French system and politic life

Intro:   (ballot box + ballot paper) ( make the movement )
Every human being should be able to do this movement...it is so beautiful... The problem is, the peoples of our world don't always understand each other so we have too much wars, too much dictators and bad things like this. We seriously need to know the others countries. Therefore, today, I'm going to tell you about my country, France. I'm going to talk about 2 things : 1, the mechanism of my country; and then, the politic life of France and by the way I'm going to talk about the next presidential election which is in a few weeks.

I.Let's begin with The mechanism of France.
France is a very centered country. Basically, we have a capital (Paris), the country is divided by 26 Region and each region is divided by 3 or 4 department. One  department is subdivided into 3 or 4 arrondissments  which is subdivided between 10 and 15 cantons.A cantons is then divided into about 10 communes. But today we'll take a look at the central government, because it's more interesting for you guys.

First at all, France is a democracy and a Republic. It's pretty much like the USA, everybody is under the law, we don't have any king or queen. France is a country where the church and the state are totally separates and it's actually a very important issue for us. Our device is " Liberty, Equality, Fraternity".

French_governement

Explanations : --The people of france vote for the president, for the national assembly and sometimes vote for a referendum.
-- The parliament is composed with the senat and the national assembly, it decide and         suggest the laws, the national assembly can be impeache by the president.
-- The president is elected for 5 years, he-she names his-her prime minister and the members of the constitutional council, he-she can impeach the assembly. He is the image of France and he is the armies.
--The constitutional council is the French supreme court.
--The Economical and social council is a assembly compound with peoples from associations, workers unions....
--Ministers and Prime minister suggest and make the laws the laws

I have talk about the mechanism of the French government, let's move on the politic life of France.

The politic life of France

I' m going to talk about two principal things; the different parties and the elections because in a few weeks, we'll have presidential elections in France, it's pretty exiting... France has a lot of political parties, i'll talk about the principals, exactly 8 parties; LCR,PCF,Les Verts, PS, PRG, UDF, UMP, FN. In france, we use to divide the politic panel in 5 parts : left extreme, left, middle, right, right extreme.

political_panel

(according to wikipedia, 160 others parties)

Explanations:

Left extreme:
The left extreme is communist or anti-capitalist, there are a lot of political parties over there, but they don't get a lot of voices.the biggest party in this section is the PCF

Left: The left has 2 principal party : the Greens and the socialists, the greens fight for the protection of the environment but they also have a real politic ideology. The socialist party is one of the two big party in France, they are socialists

Middle left: They are between the socialists and the conservative but they are more with the left ^^the biggest party in this section is the PRG

Middle right: They are between the socialists and the conservative but they are more with the right^^the biggest party in this section is the UDF

Right: They believe in capitalism and liberalism, the biggest party in this section is the UMP

Extreme Right:  They believe in "France, you love it or you leave it" .According to my dad and the most part of the French people, they are racist. The biggest party in this section is the FN

I have talk about the different politic parties, now let's move on the next elections

The next Presidential election are in a few week, we'll vote for a new president and a few weeks later for a new national assembly. We are in the presidential campaigning, we're going to see the few candidates who runs for president:

(poll according to the newspaper "marianne")

bayrou

Francois Bayrou: runs for UDF ( 19%)

besancenot

Olivier besancnot: Runs for the LCR (4%)

bove

Jose Bove: doesn't have any political party but he runs anyways. (2%)

buffet

Marie-Jeorge-Buffet: runs for the PCF (2%)

de_villiers

De Villier: runs for the MPF (2%)

laguiller

Arlette laguiller: runs for the LO (2%)

lepage

Corinne Lepage: runs for CAP 21 (0.5%)

le_pen

Le pen: runs for the FN (11%)

royal

Segolene Royal: runs for the PS (25.5%)

sarkozy

Nicolas Sarkozy: Runs for the UMP (29%)

voynet

Dominique voynet: runs for Les verts (0.5%)

In France, we go vote two times to elect the president, the two candidates with the most votes go to the second round, which will appoint the new president.
